Oven, range and stove repair
Oven, Range & Stove Repair in Miami and South Florida
We come to your home to repair ovens, ranges and stoves in Miami, Hollywood and across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. A diagnostic visit costs $75, and we waive it when you approve the repair.
Tirso takes your call and does the repair himself.
Why is my oven not heating?
Look at the display before you assume a part has failed. A control lock, a Sabbath or demo mode, or a door still locked from a self-clean cycle can each stop an oven from baking. Make sure Bake is selected and a temperature is set, and after a self-clean, wait for the oven to cool until the door releases.
If the display is dark on an electric range, check your breaker panel. A tripped breaker can be reset once. If it trips again, leave it off and call.
The heat comes from an element on an electric oven and an igniter on a gas one. Do not touch, test or replace either. If the checks above change nothing, call.
Why does my stove work but the oven doesn't?
The burners and the oven share a cabinet but are separate systems. The cooktop can work while the oven stays cold if the oven's own heating part, its temperature sensor or its control has failed. A lit display does not tell you which. Finding out is what the diagnostic visit is for.
On a gas range, read the gas section further down before you try anything.
Why is my oven baking unevenly?
Food that browns on one side and stays pale on the other has several possible causes: pan position, a temperature sensor reading wrong, or a worn door seal that lets heat out.
An oven thermometer gives you a safe check. Set it on the middle rack, set the oven to 350 degrees, and wait for the ready signal plus ten more minutes. If the reading sits far from the setting, or differs a lot between tests, write the numbers down and give them to us. Take foil off the racks and oven floor for the test.
Why is one burner not working?
When one burner stays cold and the others work, the trouble is usually that burner: its switch, its connection, or on a gas range, an igniter or ports clogged with spills. Check that your pan is flat and sits on the right burner, and try another pan. Once the cooktop is cool, wipe up spills around the burner.
On an electric range, do not pull out or swap a coil; that touches wiring. If a gas burner clicks and will not light, turn its knob off.
What does an oven error code mean?
Codes like F1 or F3 are common, and what they mean differs by brand and model, so a meaning you read online may not be yours. Write down the code and the model number and put both in your request. Pressing Cancel or Off once may clear it. If it comes back, leave the oven off.
What about gas ovens and ranges?
If you smell gas, leave the home right away. Once you are outside, call the gas company or 911. Do not switch lights or appliances on or off on your way out, and do not use a phone or any flame inside. That is general safety advice for any gas appliance.
What does the visit cost?
On an oven or range, the $75 pays for the visit where we diagnose the cause. When you approve the repair, we drop that charge and the visit costs you $0. If you decline, the $75 is all you owe. You get the repair price as a flat-rate quote before any work begins; the pricing page explains how that works.
What should I tell you when I call?
Say whether it is a range, a cooktop or a wall oven, and gas or electric.
Add the brand and the model number if you can see it; on many ranges the label sits along the frame of the oven opening or the edge of a drawer. Say what it is doing: the oven will not heat, one burner is out, or a code shows on the display. And say when it began, including whether a self-clean or a power outage came just before.
Which brands do you repair?
Look for the maker's name on the oven door or across the top of the control panel. We work on Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire, Maytag and more; for anything else, call and ask.

FAQ
Why is my oven not heating when the stove works?
The stovetop and the oven are separate systems. The oven may be locked or in demo mode, or its own heating part, sensor or control may have failed. Check the display first, and call if that changes nothing.
What should I do if I smell gas from my range?
Leave the home, then call the gas company or 911 from outside. Do not use switches, a phone or a flame inside.
Does an oven error code mean the same thing on every brand?
No. A code's meaning varies by brand and model. Write down the code and the model number and include both in your request.
What do I pay if I decide not to repair the oven?
You pay the $75 for the visit and nothing else is owed. If you go ahead, the $75 is waived.
